Have Fun And Be Entertained While You Fly On Westjet!

I got to say that Westjet dares to be different and it pretty well amused me to the hilt. My friends in Toronto had cautioned me that I may be struggling with Westjet on my trip from LA but considering the savings of more than a hundred bucks I decided to give it a try anyway.

The seats are not as good as American Airlines but I got to admit the flight was an icredibly enjoyable one. It’s a little longer flight which I hate but the crew and surprisingly also the pilot were great. The captain in his welcome message was pretty out worldly with his remarks and I quote here, “West Jet Airlines is pleased to announce that we have some of the best flight attendants in the industry. Unfortunately, none of them are on this flight!”

While the TVs and Radios are nothing new for me, the farewell with “Please be sure to take all of your belongings. If you’re going to leave anything, please make sure it’s something we’d like to have.” from the stewardess was soberly amusing.

I had my return tickets booked with Westjet itself and it was a nice experience as well as a cost effective one.

Watch this video and check out some of the fun that happens on a typical Wesjet Flight!

Westjet Rewards Program

If you have not found out about the Westjet Reward Programs then you are running a little late in discovering how you could manage to earn while spending. Westjet has two types of reward programs primarily where a flyer can earn 1 % of the amount spend while flying with Westjet back as Westjet Dollars and every Westjet Dollar equals to 1 Canadian Dollar. Alternatively, a flyer can opt to have 0.5 % of the amount spend while flying with the airline that can be used on Westjet Vacation Packages.

The reward programs become exciting for frequent flyers or businesses wherein if someone spends more than 1500 CAD in a year for flying on Westjet, then there is a 2.5 % return as Westjet Dollars or 1 % as Westjet Vacation Packages. If someone spends 3000 CAD in a year on Westjet flights then he can easily get a return of 106 CAD. You can then use the Westjet Dollars for a flight ticket by simply redeeming the rewards.

Frequent flyers can also avail the MasterCard that Westjet offers in conjunction with the Royal Bank of Canada and that can be an even faster way to earn Westjet Dollars. Pretty sweet huh?

Westjet Targets Business Class

Westjet is certainly planning to stretch its wings. In January, it was learnt that Westjet Airlines would be expanding its network and fly to smaller destinations which it had not catered to in a little more than 15 years it has been in the business.

Latest reports suggest that Westjet is trying to woo more business travelers. Westjet is already a name to reckon with when it comes to leisure travelers and with their focused approach to increase their share of business travelers, the Air Canada and Westjet fight is going to get stiffer than ever before.
News has it that the corporate sales team of Westjet has managed to sign up more clients adding to their exist clientele of American Express, Wal-Mart and others. Westjet is going hard with their offers including performance based incentives, travel and third party lounge privileges for the employees of their clients.

Westjet has certainly managed to stay as a low cost carrier with amazing customer service. They have been revamping their fleets and upgrading their in flight entertainment features as well. Can they give Air Canada a further run for their money? Would Westjet manage to stir up another impressive growth story? What do you think?
